“We Are One Team” believes in educating every student no matter the ability.

The 3 Key Qualities that Define We Are One Team

Relationships: The best foundation is building strong life long relationships with our students. When we connect with students trust develops, and we can learn about them as people and learners. Relationships start day one of school and take daily nurturing to remain strong throughout the school year.

We build our relationships using the 7 key tools

Culture: As a result of strong relationships we are able be vulnerable, build trust, and develop mutual respect with our students. When you walk into a classroom or school with a positive culture you immediately get the vibe of success, positivity, and growth. Our students and educators support, encourage, and care about each other not only professionally but personally.

Engagement: Having strong relationships and culture results in effective engagement in the classroom. We have built trust, mutual respect, vulnerability, and knowledge of our students personally, as well as learning strengths. Educators can work together and create engaging lessons that facilitate growth and high achievement. A decrease in student engagement, achievement, and morale will occur without a positive culture modeled by administration, teachers, support staff, and students.

“We Are One Team” will discuss a variety of topics. Some of the topic include Mental Health/Gratitude, School Culture, Special Education, Social Emotional Learning, Technology, Innovation Teaching Strategies, Educational Texts, Leadership, Guest Columns, Interviews with Teachers and Education Professionals, and many more. None of this is possible without your support! What sets “We Are One Team” apart is the dialogue and collaboration that I, Dustin Pearson will have with you the reader. I encourage feedback, discussion, and participation. “We Are One Team” is a place where teachers and educational professionals can gather to talk about education and continue to grow together.

Like students and teachers alike we never stop growing and adapting with the times. As we continue to grow, more varieties of content will be posted to We Are One Team. It’s on us teachers and professionals to keep the conversation going by learning and growing together.
